Voter turnout in the first phase of the 2024 ,Lok Sabha Elections covering 102 constituencies in 17 states and four federal territories ranged from 40% to 68% in the first hours of voting on April 19. However, sporadic incidents of violence and IEDs occurred. A CRPF commander was injured in a blast in Chhattisgarh, West Bengal.

Minor EVM malfunctions were reported at some booths in Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Assam.
